Description
There are a lot of hotels in Mérida but the Casa Azul Hotel is the only one that is a designated historic monument. Located at the very center of the Yucatán capital—just steps from the beginning of iconic Paseo de Montejo Avenue, Mérida’s most dazzling artery—the structure dates back to the state’s late nineteenth and early-twentieth century belle-époque, when lucrative henequen production reached its zenith. Its architecture managed to remain intact over the decades, as a reminder of that splendid era. These days eight guestrooms are available, making it a luxury only the luckiest can experience.
